COUSIN, as I often tell you...YOU LOOK FABULOUS! I too am oh so proud of you and one of the many who consult you often for advice on healthy snacks, eating habits, etc. I too made that oh so familiar NEW YEARS RESOLUTION TO LOSE WEIGHT in Jan 09. The difference is, I lost 82lbs back in 1992 and knew that with focus, support and ACCOUNTABILITY, I could do this again. With a three year old son who relies on me for everything...I knew I had to get healthy 4LIFE! I wanted to go down the sliding board with him and not wait for him at the bottom of the board, go skating around the rink along side him and not send his cousins/friends to skate with him, etc. So, Jan 09 I worked out on the treadmill at home five days a week, 30 min sessions for the entire month, it became repetitive so, my "6-pack, 31 year old brother" joined the same Golds Gym fatt2fab is a member of so, I needed a change, joined in Feb 09, was up to 12 lb loss, worked out five days a week, told one of my best friends who joined as well, we both signed up for weekly Body Combat class...remember ACCOUNTABILTY is KEY...long story short, lost an average of 10 lbs per month and now at month six, I am down 53 lbs...keep in mind...everyone works out at the gym but, your body is your temple and what you put in it will show all. Fatt2fab has given me numerous cheat sheets which I keep in my purse daily. One of the trainers at the gym encouraged me to eat my heaviest meals by 1pm. I eat a HEALTHY snack every two hours e.g., Special K Protein bars, Fiber ONE bars, etc. and no meals after 7pm...as my day starts at 6am. I am living proof that eating healthy works and I'm never going back to the FAT!
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I am trying to change my mindset so I too may enjoy the a new HEALTHY me. I'll keep you posted. MH
ReplyDeleteHey Alethea,
ReplyDeleteI always tell you how awesome you look. I'm so proud of you, you motivated me to eating healthier and exercising and I did well for a long while, I fell off, I'm having a hard time getting back on track, Could you please advise.
I totally feel your last blogger. I was once there too. But, for me, ACCOUNTABILITY is key. When you form a support system i.e., "my 6 pack, 31 year old brother", my cousin "fatt2fab", one of my best girlfriends and a host of close friends whom you work out with at home and work, plus check in with at the end of each month...you can't help but stay on track. Form your "Accountability Team" today. Sincerely, 6'&Sexy :o)
ReplyDeletehere are a few tips from the cheat sheet that I keep in my purse daily, which I rec'd from "fatt2fab"...Drink at least 64 oz of water a day, that is 8, eight ounce glasses of water. Never white anything, no white rice or bread, or sugar, ONLY brown rice, whole wheat bread, make sure it says whole grains, also AGAVE Nectar is a great sugar substitute. DO NOT SKIP MEALS, eat 5 to 6 times a day this increases your metabolism.
ReplyDeleteNever go more than 4 hours without eating during the day. Eat within an hour of waking up it jump starts your metabolism. Again, fatt2fab has been a try blessing and inspiration to my 53 lb weight lost, to date. Sincerely, 6'&Sexy
OMG...Thank you LeLe for this...I am soo ready for a complete change..I am getting there slowly but surely. To everyone else, please share your stories and words of encourage so when I reach my goal, I too...will have a story to share.
